As a key figure in the advancement of deep-sea mining technology, Rutger led the development of TMC’s Allseas-designed nodule collection system and oversaw its successful execution during NORI’s test mining campaign in 2022. Prior to this, he spearheaded the technical and operational development of the revolutionary single lift concept for decommissioning offshore oil and gas platforms—executed aboard the world’s largest construction vessel, Pioneering Spirit.
